It was developed for small embedded applications like television set up boxes.
James Gosling, Patrick Naughton , and Mike Sheridan who were initiated the Java language project in June 1991 in Sun Microsystems.
Its first extension was .gt as the name is called as GreenTalk, after that it was called as Oak.
Time magazine called Java one of the Ten Best Products of 1995.
In 1995, Oak was renamed as "Java" before they are releasing the first version JDK 1.0 in 1996.
