Arithmetic Progression

Arithmetic Progression

An arithmetic progression is a list of numbers in which each term is obtained by adding a fixed number d to the next term, the fixed number d is called the common difference.

like- a, a+d,a+2d,a+3d,............................

In an AP with first term a and common difference d, the nth term is given by   Tn = a + (n - 1) d

  • Sum of first n terms of an AP: S =(n/2)[2a + (n- 1)d]
  • The sum of n terms is also equal to the formulawhere l is the last term.
