Atmosphere

Atmosphere

The word atmosphere is made from two Greek words 'atmos' meaning vapor and 'sphaira' meaning sphere. The atmosphere is a gaseous envelope surrounding a planetary body, held by the gravity of the body. Earth's atmosphere is composed of around 78% Nitrogen, 21% Oxygen, 09.% Argon and so many other trace gases. The atmosphere protects us from harmful radiations such as Ultraviolet rays. It provides us with oxygen, water and other most essential elements for life to exist.
