RAM - Random Access Memory
RAM: Random Access Memory
RAM is important electronic equipment fitted on the motherboard of the computer. It acts as a medium to hold the information / data, currently being processed by the CORE. The name Random comes from the fact that system can directly access a particular data cell without accessing the data cells around it
It is a static storage device which stores data in an Integrated circuit, unlike the hard drive which has a rotating disk. It is also a volatile memory which upon a power reset or power removal, deletes all stored memory. RAM is used by the central processing unit (CPU) when a computer is running to store information that it needs to be used very quick.
